I am back in the groove!!!

Today I did my first scrapbook page in about 2 months! It felt so good to get one done. It was extra sweet because I LOVE the way it turned out. It was a page about my mom in 3 pics, one with each of my kids. I titled it "Grandma's Love" which I think is totally appropriate for the page. I used all stash for the page including 7 buttons I have had for at least 3 years, 1 sheet of 8.5" x 11" paper (which I never use), 4 scrap pieces, 2 chipboard embellishments, acrylic paint, a rub-0n I thought I would never use and I got the sketch from a class I attended on Scrapping Good Times by an old friend of mine. I am just so geeked and can't wait to see how long this high will last. I am hoping to do at least 3 more pages before the end of the month as I am VERY behind my goal of 2 pages a week.

In doing this page, I also realized how fun it is to scrap alone. There is no pressure to get your page done before the other person goes home. You can take your time and do techniques that take extra time that you would not normally do. You can really figure out and mull over what you want to do with the page. I feel so creatively stimulated!!! Now, off to do another page!

Bonkers for Biking

Today was a day spent almost exclusively outside with my DD who is, as the title suggests, BONKERS FOR BIKING! Madison finally bit the bullet and decided yesterday that enough was enough - the training wheels HAD to come off!!! I think it was because we had talked about it and then she saw Nick riding a 2 wheel bike without training wheels that she felt compelled to learn herself. It is powerful motivation to see someone younger than you who has mastered something that you have been too scared to try! So, I took the training wheels off and after a few times of just supporting her while she got on, she wanted to do everything herself and tried about 20 times. She only fell a couple of times and did amazingly well for just learning. Today, she woke up BEGGING to go outside and ride her bike. Half of the day she rode the little purple one and then she got brave - she got out the BIG one that Amber gave her. By about 2pm, she was riding that like a pro. She went from our house all the way to the end of the block and back without falling at all. I was so proud of her stamina and stick to it attitude! I do have the feeling that she is going to want to go for bikerides every day for the rest of the summer....decked out in her helmet, long pants, long sleeve shirts, kneepads and elbowpads. She was just too cute...I guess I have to get my butt ready for some long hours spent on a bike!!!! Gotta keep up with my new biker babe!!!!
